My Story

I have taken up the challege to walk 40 miles for Schoolreaders, collecting litter along the way.

Any money I can raise in sponorship will be doubled by my company and will go directly to Schoolreaders to help change a child's future.

Why Race for Reading?
One in four children leave primary school unable to read well and struggle to fully access secondary education. Reading is the gateway to learning. Schoolreaders has been increasing child literacy whilst encouraging a love for books for over ten years.

I've agreed to walk a minimum of 40 miles with a simple aim: to raise £1 for every mile. That means:
40 miles = £40 raised = 1 child supported for a full year

I've encountered so much litter that the going has been slow and I've only managed to walk about 21 miles this May but will keep going, until I make it to 40 miles. One of my sponsors reckons One bucket of litter = 1 mile, which is about right. It can contain 160 items and weigh up to 4 kgs. When the bucket is full, I return home.

Thanks for your support. Why not join me and sign up to the Race for Reading next year?
